Support groups and counselling

The establishment and management of support groups for survivors of rape and abuse is essential, as is having a network of registered counsellors available over the province for quick referrals.

Motivational talks

The founder of EPIC Foundation, Alta tells her story, her journey towards healing and her positive outcome.  Her aim is to inspire survivors, to let them know they are not alone and that the Epic Foundation are there to stand with them, that it is OK to speak up and get the healing they deserve.

Education and awareness campaigns

Talks will be done at various women’s functions and at schools informing of the work done by the Foundation, information on rape in South Africa, what to do when you are raped, the importance of DNA evidence, preventing HIV Aids after rape – the effects of ARVs and the importance of taking them, etc.

Legal advice and court preparation

Assistance and referrals will be provided to rape survivors to prepare for the court day.

Self defence workshops

The Epic Foundation has teamed up with Renata Fester from the Elite Defense Academy to provide monthly self-defense workshops.  These are aimed at rape survivors, shelter ladies and the public.  Men are also most welcome at these workshops.

Renata is a Krav Maga instructor and has had great success with the workshops at Epic Foundation.
